Mission
Part of our Christian commitment is to demonstrate the love of God by supporting charities and programmes that help alleviate distress. St Mary’s has a particular commitment to Christian charities that alleviate poverty. Many of our congregation are actively involved in collecting during Christian Aid week, collecting clothes and food for Faith in Action or the Spires centre. In addition to this, the church financially supports many charities. Each year all the collections from services on Christmas Eve and Christmas day are donated to charity. In addition, 5% of our annual income is donated to nominated charities and some of the proceeds from parking in Tennis fortnight are given to charities.
