Lent Lectures: Prayer that connects

We are delighted to announce our series of Lent Lectures for 2018 titled 'Prayer that connects'. The lectures will be held on Wednesday evenings at 8pm in the Garden Hall.

Each session will last an hour, ending with a 15 minute taster of prayer in the style under discussion.

  • 21 February - Revd Dr Chris Palmer
    Praying with the events of everyday life: How the Examen can transform our living

    Chris Palmer is the Bishops’ Spirituality Advisor and Team Rector of Merton Priory. During our Sunday services in all four churches

  • 28 February - Revd Dr Clare Herbert
    Praying with pictures

    Clare Herbert is Tutor in Practical Theology and Pastoral Care at St Augustines College and has recently completed a PhD in Hermeneutical Practical Theology.

  • 7 March - Revd Chris Chapman
    Praying with Ignatius

    Chris Chapman was the Spirituality Advisor for the Diocese of Southwark before retiring, he teaches spirituality and regularly leads retreats and gives spiritual direction.

  • 14 March - Revd Debbie Forman
    Praying with Poetry and Music

    Debbie Forman is the Vicar of St Mary’s Addington. Debbie gives Spiritual Direction and has led quiet days. She is a member of the vocations team.

  • 21 March - Sue McCoulough
    Praying with St Francis and St Clare

    Sue is a Franciscan Tertiary who has worked for the BBC and Tearfund and leads quiet days and writes for 'Quiet Spaces'.
